Accessibility services for councils and public bodies

Public sector bodies carry two accessibility duties at once: your websites and apps must meet the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018, and your workforce is owed reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act 2010. AAT Solutions supports both — with audits, training and awareness work delivered by certified specialists who use assistive technology themselves.

Who we've trained

AAT Solutions' specialists have years of experience training public sector professionals — including court staff, Home Office personnel and elected councillors — and healthcare professionals, from doctors and nurses to psychologists and therapists. Much of that work was delivered on behalf of the sector's largest Access to Work providers, who subcontract specialist visual-impairment training to practitioners like us. The same specialist delivery is now available to your organisation directly.

Your websites and documents

Manual accessibility audits of websites, intranets and documents against WCAG 2.2 and EN 301 549 — every audit carried out by a full-time screen reader user, with a prioritised plain-English report, a readout with your team, and a retest of fixes. We can also review or help you draft the accessibility statement the regulations require. Read more about our audits.

An audit is an expert assessment against the standards; it is not a legal certification or a guarantee of compliance.

Your workforce

When an employee is disabled or their needs change, we assess what would help, set up the assistive technology, and train them to use it well — with Access to Work funding where eligible, and quotes prepared within two working days in the format the scheme expects. Two weeks of follow-up support comes with every training package.

Your teams' understanding

Disability awareness sessions and "The Blind Truth" talks for staff, from front-line teams to leadership — practical, interactive, and delivered by a specialist who is blind. Our education and healthcare clients describe these sessions as among the best training they've received — read their words.
